See Author Test Items and Choice Interaction for general instruction on item creation.

  1. From the Editor tab, select Add Interaction > Match & Order > Gap Match.
  2. Under Text, enter or paste in text.
  3. Highlight a word or phrase, and then select Insert Gap to create gaps where students will drag and drop their answers.
  4. Under Choices, enter answer choices.
  5. Enter a value in Max Match for each answer choice. This indicates how many times that answer choice can be dragged into any gap.
  6. Under Scoring Settings, enter a value in Max Points. See section below for details on additional options.
  7. Under Correct Response, drag and drop the answer choices into the correct gap(s).
  8. Select Save.

Scoring Settings

Check Allow correct Choice in any Gap to award points when the correct answer choice or choices have been placed in a gap.

When using Partial Scoring, enter a point value in the Points column for each answer choice. See also: Set Up Partial Scoring.

AI Content Generation

Interactions may generated off of a standard and/or a specific prompt. They can be modified as needed. Users with the correct bank-level role permissions will see an ‘AI Generate’ option on these interactions on the ‘Add Interaction’ screen on hover. Interactions that have this functionality will have the AI symbol in the top right. This process requires a standard be assigned to the item and the standards information is passed along to the AI engine.
