When you install TestNav Desktop, it creates an updates folder in the Pearson folder shown in the path above. This folder is used for downloading update files, error logging during updates, and a storing a TestNav preference file.
The updates folder contains the following:
- errorlog folder - logs any issues TestNav may encounter when it attempts an update
- default file - stores the customer login preference
- The first time you enter TestNav, you select your test. After you select a test the first time, TestNav stores that preference in the default file and takes you to that login the next time you open TestNav.
- If you select a different customer from the Sign In screen, the default file stores your new preference and takes you to that login the next time you open TestNav.
- You can set the default file to Read Only to prevent students from overwriting it after you set your test preference.
You can delete the Pearson folder to reset TestNav, clearing out any updates stored in that directory.
