You can add exceptions to one or more student test attempts when interruptions occur during testing. You must add an exception to a student's test attempt to mark it Void or Not Tested

Each exception has a corresponding code; only one exception can be selected at a time. 

  • 01 Medical Emergency
  • 02 EL First Year in U.S.(reading only)
  • 03 Incorrect Accommodation/Accessibility Feature Applied
  • 04 Cheating/Using Electronic Device
  • 05 Test Security
  • 06 Incomplete Assessment
  • 07 Off Grade
  • 08 Fire Alarm
  • 09 Disturbance
  • 11 Absent
  • 12 Transferred or Withdrew
  • 13 Suspended or Expelled
  • 14 Home Hospital or Incarcerated
  • 15 Refused to Participate
  • 17 Changed to Certificate Bound (Subject to Audit)
  • 19 COVID
  • 20 Other
A user with administrator permissions can remove exceptions to revert the test status to the previous test status. 

Prerequisites

  • Confirm your role and project under your name, and your district or school in the Organization dropdown. If you have access to multiple projects or organizations, click each dropdown to select the one(s) you want to view.


Add an Exception

Step-by-Step
  1. From the main menu, click (or tap) Sessions.
  2. Click a session name, or first, enter search criteria. 
  3. Select one or more students. 
  4. Click Enter Exception in the student list.
  5. Select one exception.
  6. Click Save & CloseRepeat these steps if there are more applicable exceptions.

Add an Exception for Test Attempts Marked Void or Not Tested

Step-by-Step

  1. Repeat Steps 1-2 from above.
  2. Locate the student, and change their status to Void or Not Tested.
  3. Select one exception from the Enter Exception popup window.
  4. Click Save & Close. Repeat these steps if there are more applicable exceptions.


Edit or Remove an Exception

Step-by-Step

  1. Repeat Steps 1-2 from above.
  2. In the STUDENT LIST, click on the exception that you would like to edit or remove.

     
  3. Click Edit
  4. Click Remove Exception, then click Save Changes.

    a. If you wish to add a new exception to the same student, follow the Add an Exception step-by-step above.

Effects

  • After you add an exception, you can:
    • View exceptions by clicking Exception on the Student List.
    • View all test attempts with exceptions on the Home page Testing Exception dashboard.

Student test attempts with exceptions cannot be removed from a session when in Ready status.

  • After you remove an exception, the test status reverts to the previous test status.

  • Re-register the student for a new test session if the test attempt is marked Void.
  • Mark the test attempt DNR.
