Step-by-Step

Prior to testing, a proctor, test coordinator, or technology personnel should install TestNav on each testing device (installation varies by operating system). Then, run App Check on each device prior to testing to ensure that they pass requirement and system checks. 

  1. Open TestNav on the testing device.
  2. Select North Dakota on the TestNav home page. If previously selected, the next image appears without displaying the TestNav home page.
  3. Once students are on the login screen, in the User dropdown in the upper right-hand corner of the screen, have them select App Check. 


    4. Click the Run App Check and Run Network Check buttons to conduct the checks. (No Configuration Identifier is needed to run the app check.)  
If a device does not pass App Check, follow instructions App Check provides to fix the issue or use a different device. 

  1. A test proctor should give each student a test card with details to enter into TestNav.

    1. Select North Dakota on the TestNav home page. If North Dakota was selected before the test session, you will see the Welcome page, rather than the home page.
         
    2.  Enter the Test Code, and then select Next.  
       
    3. Enter the student's last name and SSID in the correct field and select Next. 
       
    4. Confirm the Test and your name, and select Next. 


7. TestNav opens and the student can begin testing.
