You can edit a session to update session details including session name and testing schedule and add students to the session.

Prerequisites

Confirm your role and project under your name, and your district or school in the Organization dropdown. If you have access to multiple projects or organizations, click each dropdown to select the one(s) you want to view.

Step-by-Step

  1. From the main menu, click (or tap) Sessions.

  2. Click a session name, or first, enter search criteria.

  3. Click Edit, and update the available session details. Details available to edit vary depending on the mode of testing (paper or online).

    Paper Test Session

PreID values are 10-digit barcodes that attach each student to a test within a specific test session.
    • Pre-ID Not Locked indicates that Pearson has not created the pre-ID labels for those students in that test session, and you can edit their session details.
    • Pre-ID Locked indicates that Pearson has created the pre-ID labels for those students in that test session, and you cannot remove those students from the test session. To remove the student, you must void the test attempt
  4. Click Save.

- You can also add students, access testing materials, and manage statuses. Note that you can add students to a test only when their grade-level matches that of the test.

- If you add students to a paper-based test session when Pearson Access shows preID values for that test session as locked, Pearson cannot create a preID label for the student(s). You may need to contact your administrator to place an additional order for necessary paper materials.

- If a student you attempt to add to a session does not appear in the Student List, he or she may be assigned to another session. Depending on your project configuration, the system may restrict the number of test assignments allowed for each student.

Effects

  • Connects data to TestNav and prepares it for the session start.
  • Creates unique student user IDs and passwords and includes them in test tickets for students to use to sign in to the test. The password ensures that students can access only the test assigned to them in the session.
